Still one of the best sports-car values, the rambunctious Corvette gets an infusion of power thanks to a new 6.2-liter V8, which channels 430 hp to the rear wheels. Adding an optional performance exhaust system brings the total up to 436 hp. It remains available in two body styles: a coupe with a removable, rigid roof panel, and a soft-top convertible. The higher-performance 505-hp Z06 coupe remains the top model, at least until an even-quicker version debuts for 2009.
